Modena Avio Engines - MAE, is a company founded by two brothers, Paolo and Alessandro Alessandrini.
A strong passion for aviation was fostered by their father, Captain Italo Alessandrini, who was a pilot of a
MACCHI MC 202 in 4° Storm - 90° Fighter Squadron during the Second World War. The Alessandrini brothers started their careers in motorsport,
founding ART Engineering in 1988, with its activity focused as private team running LANCIA’s in
the world rally championship. The two brothers were highly successful during their carrers, including a 3rd
overall in the highly prestidgious Pikes Peak race (the “Race to the Clouds”), at Colorado Spring. The sporting activity continued
with partnerships with important car manufacturers such as SUBARU, PORSCHE and VOLVO. As a partner to automotive
manufactures ART has been able to make important technical contributions through its racing car research and development.
In order to support the design activity of aircraft engines the Modena Avio Engines was founded.
The MAE factory is based in Modena – ITALY, a particular area where a great passion and deep understanding of engine knowledge
is present and diffuse. This area houses the head quarters for some of the most famous engine and cars manufacturer
in the world. In a very small triangle of land famous brands such as Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and Ducati motorcycle
produces their masterpieces.
This particular environment is ideal for the design and production of engines. Modena is clearly the right place to find every
expertise for engine design, testing and production.
MAE uses the collective experience of its 20 engineers, who are specialists in engine fluid dynamics, high technology materials,
design, structural analysis and testing.
The core business of MAE is the development of high-performance engines and precision engine components for prototypes,
pre-production and for top level motor sports.
